Field Assistance

The Biology Society of South Australia (BSSA) aims to provide opportunities for young biologists to gain additional experience in various activities associated with the environment while at the same time providing researchers, land managers and community groups with valuable assistance. We have a membership made up of primarily undergraduate and postgraduate students, past students, and academic staff from the three South Australian universities, as well as government and non-government scientists and land managers.

We place most of our emphasis on providing opportunities for fieldwork because we wish to develop a greater appreciation of Australia's flora and fauna amongst our members. If you are interested in providing opportunities for people to help you with your work then please fill in the attached form and return it to the BSSA. We will advertise the opportunity in our newsletter and on our web page and hopefully recruit people to assist you. Members will contact you directly. You will need to provide sufficient details about the project, what people helping you will need to bring, the dates that assistance is needed and your contact details. Please note that the BSSA does not provide liability insurance for those people who help you and you should make the necessary enquiries to ensure that people helping you are covered appropriately.
