Koonamore - The T.G.B. Osborn Vegetation Reserve

Background

A long-term vegetation monitoring project in the N.E. pastoral area, north of Yunta.

This is one of the longest-running field-stations in Australia, with over eighty years of records. For more details, see our website: http://www.ees.adelaide.edu.au/facilities/stations/koonamore.html

The work of re-reading the permanent quadrats and photopoints, checking for rabbits and general maintenance of the Reserve is largely done by volunteers, at a week-long field camp in November/December each year.

Volunteers may be Environmental Biology students of any year, Department staff or others interested in Botanical fieldwork. Field experience is desirable but not essential; what is essential is an appreciation of the joys of saltbush country, heat, dust, bushflies, botanical field research, good company and excellent cooking!

Please see our flyer for details
